The Smartbox Head Office is in Malvern, Worcestershire, United Kingdom. We have other offices in Bristol, UK as well as internationally in Ireland, Germany, as well as nationally in the United States in Pennsylvania, PA and Cedar Falls, IA.
The role
This new role will work alongside a global marketing team, coordinating with Smartbox’s UK and Global marketing department based in the UK, as well as sister companies Talk To Me Technologies (based in Cedar Falls, Iowa) and REHAVISTA (based in Germany).You will be part of the Smartbox, Inc team (based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), focusing on reaching more people in the US who would benefit from access to Smartbox products. A key part of your role will be supporting the work of teams in the US with a targeted marketing strategy that guides people from initial awareness with clear next steps at every stage of their exploration and discovery of AAC, through to recommendation and sale.
The Marketing Executive will report to the Senior Vice President of Sales within the US and work closely with the Senior Vice President of Clinical Education, the UK Marketing team and the wider Sales, Operations, and Training teams. You will be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, and able to work independently and as part of larger project teams. Must be willing to travel within the United States, and occasionally internationally for conferences or to the UK.
You will be supported by both UK and US marketing teams, using established brand and marketing content, and tailoring resources to support the US market. You will focus on working with the US Partner and Software teams, and Clinical Education teams to help increase AAC awareness within the US. Building a close working relationship with partners within the US and generating interest and demand for our software packages within schools and with professional bodies. This is a varied and hands-on role for someone who can work on a variety of initiatives at once, with a passion for learning about a wide variety of marketing and outreach strategies, and to help shape our marketing approach in the US for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Education and software outreach:
• Support the Clinical Education team with identifying priority market segments and territories to deliver ambitious impact targets, focused on training SLP and education professionals and delivery of access to AAC through software and communication device provision,
• Targeted marketing content to promote Smartbox products to schools, collaborating with UK and Global teams on group-wide strategies.
• Execute account-based marketing tactics, delivering personalized campaigns to school districts and software-only customers.
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify and prioritize key clients, maintaining contact lists for targeted outreach.
• Work with clients and AAC users to create case studies and testimonials.
• Work with the UK Comms team to use existing comms channels when required.
• Analyze campaign performance and provide data-driven recommendations.
Conferences and Exhibitions:
• Coordinate regional and national conferences and training events, acting as a single point of contact for event organization.
• Assist with branding, design, and presentation slide formatting.
• Liaise with our sister company, Talk To Me, about collaborative event opportunities.
• Liaise with the Global Marketing Lead on international conference opportunities.
• Prepare regular reports on event lead generation and ROI for internal stakeholders.
US Partner branding and product marketing support :
• Maintain brand consistency and localize marketing materials for US Partners.
• Coordinate with the UK Marketing and R&D teams about printed materials for US Partner sales.
Strategic partnerships and thought-leadership:
• Oversee the delivery and promotion of webinars, working with professional bodies.
• Work with the UK Comms team to use existing comms channels when required.
• Stay updated on industry trends and conduct market research to help inform strategic planning and identify prospective customers.
• Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to support business growth.
Essential skills/attributes
• Enthusiasm and passion for marketing and technology.
• A good eye for detail, organized and able to work efficiently and independently.
• Excellent English and writing skills, with experience writing marketing copy.
• Experience working with project teams and meeting milestones effectively.
• Highly skilled in using Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Comfortable creating attractive branded visuals for external presentations and applying the Smartbox brand and tone of voice appropriately in copy and visual design.
• Experience managing personal data and able to organise databases securely.
• Hands-on in creating outbound marketing campaigns and relevant content (skilled in using illustrations/graphics, photography, copywriting, and relevant software).
• Experience creating reports that capture performance and areas for improvement.
• Data management experience (working with CRM system).
• Experience analysing marketing data and using this to inform decision making.
• Experience coordinating complex events, planning, and attending conferences.
The successful applicant will also be asked to perform other duties on an ad-hoc basis and will need a proactive attitude to this.
